UpBeat Brass Band Ensemble

The members of UpBeat Brass are all veteran performers, winning music competitions and working with other top entertainers, orchestras, ensembles, and as soloists. Together they perform internationally in concert halls, colleges and universities, also bringing their signature sound to churches, festivals and theaters. Francis Wyatt, percussionMembers have received funding from The National Endowment for the Arts, The Ohio Arts Council, Arts Mid West, The Southern Arts Federation, Meet The Composer and the American Music Center.

Francis Wyatt, percussion

with UPBEAT BRASS, is an 11 year veteran of the United States Air Force, where he performed in every musical ensemble at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. His work as a Jazz percussionist includes performing and touring with Joe Henderson, Conrad Herwig, Tony Dumas, & George Mraz. Heís also shared the stage with Michael Brecker, Carl Fontana, Bobby Watson, & Arturo Sandoval.

Franís background includes a high degree of expertise in IT, music technology, recording technology, and contemporary performance techniques. He has produced several recordings in both secular and Christian markets. In addition to performing with UPBEAT BRASS, he is the Director of Music at Willow Creek Chicago Church, the downtown campus of Willow Creek Community Church, one of the largest churches in North America. There he often has the opportunity to take advantage of his strength of being a multi-instrumentalist. He currently lives in Chicago with his wife Cheryl and their two children, April and Brandon.
